Weatherization Assistance Program

Posted in NADIV

60 CHAI is now partnering with the Baltimore City Department of Housing for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).

The WAP will help lower your fuel bills by 30 to 45 percent through air sealing and insulation. Not to mention keep your home more comfortable by having your furnace cleaned and tuned, and help protect the environment.

Sound good? Well our goal is to have as many eligible residents register to benefit from this Federal Stimulus Funded program.

It is worth noting that an energy auditor will determine what services, if any, will be provided. The program will also not replace any windows or doors, perform any plumbing work, or fix roofs.

Am I eligible for the Weatherization Assistance Program?

  • Has your home been weatherized since 9/30/1994?
  • Is your annual income over:
Household Size 1 2 3 4 5 6
Income Limit $30,249 $39,556 $48,864 $58,171 $67,479 $76,786

*For each additional person, add $9,307 to income limit.

If you answered no to both questions, then you may be eligible!

How to register for the Weatherization Assistance Program:

  1. Baltimore City residents call 311 or 443-984-1066 and request an application.
  2. You will receive a program number and an application will be sent to your home.
  3. Return completed application to: Baltimore Housing Weatherization Program, 2700 North Charles Street, Suite 202, Baltimore MD 21218.
  4. A city energy auditor wil contact you and perform an energy assessment.
  5. Services, if any, will then be recommended by the energy auditor.
  6. A city approved contractor will schedule an appointment to perform the services.
